Pediatric Orthopedic Department Rotterdam (NL)

The department of pediatric orthopedics in Erasmus MC - Sophia children's hospital in Rotterdam consists of 6 enthusiastic pediatric orthopedic surgeons, 4 spine specialists, a pediatric sports physician, an upper extremity unit (4 consultants) and 2 allround specialized nurses. Together we take care of an academic pediatric orthopedic population of approximately 5 million inhabitants in the Southwest of The Netherlands and beyond.

Besides patient care, we also see teaching and sharing knowledge as one of our main goals. Every year multiple (accredited) courses are provided, concerning several topics in pediatric orthopedics and related fields. For the southwestern region of The Netherlands, the SUPER network (Southwest United Pediatric orthopaedic Expertise and Research) was introduced to optimize collaborations in patient care and knowledge sharing. Also, we collaborate with the Dutch Pediatric Orthopedic Society (WKO) subdivision of the Dutch Orthopedic Society (NOV).
